The SIGMA 811070606 is a FIG 3107 four-way pipe cross fitting designed for threaded pipe assemblies in plumbing, mechanical, and industrial piping systems. Built from malleable iron with a galvanized finish, it provides corrosion resistance suited for exposed or moderately harsh environments. The fitting accepts 1-1/2 inch nominal pipe on all four ports via female national pipe taper (FNPT) threads and carries a 150 lb pressure class rating. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this type of cross fitting where a single pipe run must branch in two perpendicular directions simultaneously.
This pipe cross is used in residential and commercial piping layouts where four-way distribution is required in a single plane. Typical applications include water supply headers, compressed air distribution lines, fire protection rough-in, and general industrial pipe networks that call for a low-pressure threaded iron fitting. The galvanized coating makes it appropriate for applications where bare iron would be subject to surface oxidation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 1-1/2 inch nominal threaded malleable iron piping systems rated at 150 lb class.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local mechanical and plumbing codes. Shut off and depressurize the pipe system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly, and tighten to hand-tight plus the number of turns appropriate for FNPT joints without over-torquing. Do not use this fitting beyond its rated pressure class or in systems carrying fluids incompatible with galvanized malleable iron.
