The SIGMA 811070010 is a FIG 3107 four-way pipe cross fitting designed for low-pressure piping systems. It features female national pipe thread (FNPT) connections on all four ports and is rated at 150 lb, making it suitable for general-purpose water, air, and steam service within its pressure class. Constructed from malleable iron with a galvanized finish, the fitting provides corrosion resistance in exposed or damp environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting when a branch connection is needed in both directions from a common run, consolidating four lines at a single junction point.
This cross fitting is used in residential and light commercial piping installations where a four-way distribution point is required. Typical applications include water distribution headers, compressed air branch lines, and low-pressure steam piping. The 3/4 inch nominal size fits standard schedule pipe and compatible threaded fittings of the same nominal diameter. The galvanized coating makes it a common choice in utility rooms, mechanical rooms, and outdoor-adjacent installations where bare iron would be at risk of surface corrosion.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 3/4 inch nominal threaded piping systems using 150 lb malleable iron fittings.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC or IFGC requirements for the service type. Shut off the water or air supply and relieve system pressure completely before making or breaking any threaded connections. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to all male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten FNPT connections, as malleable iron threads can crack under excessive torque.
