The SIGMA 811051218 is a malleable iron galvanized reducing tee fitting designed for threaded pipe assemblies in low-pressure gas, water, and steam distribution systems. Built to a 150 lb pressure class, this FIG 3105R-style fitting features female national pipe taper (FNPT) threads on all three ports. The reducing configuration measures 2 x 1 x 2 inches nominal, allowing a branch takeoff at a reduced 1-inch diameter from a 2-inch main run. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance for exposed or semi-exposed installations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in commercial and light industrial piping systems.
This reducing tee is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, fire suppression, and low-pressure steam or gas piping where a branch reduction is required along a straight run. The FNPT thread form is compatible with standard NPT-threaded pipe and fittings. Typical applications include hydronic heating distribution, compressed air headers, and general-purpose water supply piping where flow is directed from a 2-inch main into a 1-inch branch line.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded replacement fitting for 150 lb malleable iron galvanized piping systems using standard NPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the piping system fully before removing any existing fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to all male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten FNPT connections, as malleable iron threads can crack under excessive torque.
