The SIGMA 811050434 is a malleable iron galvanized reducing tee rated at 150 lb, designed for threaded pipe assemblies in commercial and industrial plumbing systems. Manufactured to FIG 3105R standards, this fitting features female National Pipe Taper (FNPT) threads on all three ports, accepting 2-inch pipe on the run and 1-1/2-inch pipe on the branch outlet. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance suited for water supply, compressed air, and general fluid distribution lines. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this class of fitting.
This reducing tee is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial piping systems where a branch takeoff at a reduced diameter is required. Common applications include water distribution, steam, and air distribution lines. The 150 lb pressure class makes it appropriate for low-to-medium pressure service conditions typical in standard building piping systems. Its FNPT thread pattern is compatible with standard NPT-threaded pipe and fittings throughout a system.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard NPT-threaded malleable iron and steel pipe systems rated for 150 lb service class.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the line completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male NPT threads before assembly, and tighten to hand-tight plus the appropriate number of turns for the pipe size per standard pipefitting practice. Do not over-torque malleable iron fittings, as the material can crack under excessive force.
