The SIGMA 811048206 is a FIG 3105R malleable iron reducing tee designed for threaded pipe assemblies in plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical piping systems. This fitting connects a 1-1/2 inch run with a 1/2 inch branch outlet, maintaining a 1-1/2 inch through-line, using female NPT (FNPT) threads on all three ports. Rated at 150 lb, the fitting is built to handle the pressure demands of standard service piping. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance suitable for exposed or damp installations. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors use this fitting to reduce flow to branch lines without breaking the main run.
This reducing tee is appropriate for residential and light commercial piping applications including water distribution, compressed air, and low-pressure steam or gas systems where malleable iron fittings are specified. The FNPT thread style on all outlets allows direct connection to standard NPT-threaded pipe without adapters. The galvanized coating makes it a common choice in environments where bare iron would be prone to surface rust, such as utility rooms, mechanical closets, and exposed ceiling installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-1/2 inch nominal threaded pipe systems using standard NPT connections rated to 150 lb service class.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters following applicable IPC or IFGC code requirements for the fluid or gas being conveyed. Shut off and depressurize the pipe system completely before removing or installing threaded fittings. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten — use a pipe wrench with a backup wrench on the adjacent fitting to avoid cracking the casting.
