The SIGMA 811048008 is a FIG 3105R malleable iron galvanized reducing tee designed for threaded pipe systems in commercial and industrial plumbing, gas distribution, and mechanical piping applications. The fitting is rated at 150 lb and features female national pipe taper (FNPT) threads on all three ends. Nominal sizing is 1-1/2 inches on the run with 3/4-inch branch and outlet connections, making it a standard reducing configuration for stepping down flow paths in a main line. Galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance for wet or exposed installations. The malleable iron body delivers the toughness required for screwed piping systems operating under typical working pressures in low-pressure steam, water, oil, gas, and air service.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial mechanical systems where a threaded reducing branch connection is required. Typical applications include hydronic heating piping, compressed air distribution, fire protection auxiliary lines, and general plumbing rough-in work. Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable mechanical and plumbing codes, including the IPC and IFGC where relevant. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPT threads before assembly. Do not over-torque threaded connections, as malleable iron can crack under excessive force.
