The SIGMA 811047208 is a FIG 3105R malleable iron reducing tee designed for threaded pipe assemblies in commercial and industrial piping systems. It features female national pipe thread (FNPT) connections on all three ports and carries a 150 lb pressure rating. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance for use in demanding environments. The reducing configuration accepts a 1-1/2 inch run on both the inlet and outlet, with a 1 inch branch takeoff, making it a practical choice for branching and reducing flow in a single fitting. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers for this type of threaded iron fitting.
This reducing tee is suited for water distribution, general-purpose piping, and low-pressure steam or air service lines where a threaded malleable iron fitting is required. The nominal size of 1-1/2 x 1 x 1-1/2 inches covers common branch-reduction layouts in both light commercial and industrial installations. The galvanized coating makes it appropriate for mildly corrosive or moisture-prone environments where bare iron would be less suitable.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-1/2 x 1 x 1-1/2 inch nominal threaded malleable iron piping systems rated at 150 lb.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC code requirements for the service type. Shut off and depressurize the piping system fully before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to all male threads before assembly, and hand-tighten before applying wrench torque to avoid cross-threading. Do not overtighten malleable iron fittings, as the material can crack under excessive force.
