The SIGMA 811040815 is a malleable iron galvanized reducing tee fitting designed for threaded pipe assemblies in low-pressure fluid and gas distribution systems. Manufactured to a 150 lb pressure class, this FIG 3105R pattern tee accepts female National Pipe Taper (FNPT) connections on all three ports. The run measures 1 inch nominal while both the branch and outlet measure 3/4 inch nominal, allowing a straight-run pipe to be reduced or branched in a single fitting. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this type of fitting during rough-in work on water supply, compressed air, and low-pressure steam or gas piping systems.
This reducing tee is suited for residential and light commercial piping applications where galvanized malleable iron fittings are specified. Typical install scenarios include building water supply mains, hydronic heating distribution piping, compressed air headers, and gas branch lines where a 1-inch main run must tee off to two 3/4-inch branch or outlet connections. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance appropriate for above-ground interior piping exposed to ambient moisture.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard 1-inch and 3/4-inch NPT threaded pipe in 150 lb malleable iron piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IFGC or IPC requirements. Shut off and depressurize the pipe system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an approved pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape to all male threads before assembly and tighten fittings to hand-tight plus appropriate wrench turns using a pipe wrench — do not over-tighten malleable iron fittings as the material can crack. Pressure-test the completed assembly before returning the system to service.
