The SIGMA 811040609 is a malleable iron galvanized reducing tee designed for threaded pipe assemblies in low-pressure fluid and gas distribution systems. Conforming to the FIG 3105R pattern, this fitting connects a 1-inch run to a 3/4-inch branch outlet with female National Pipe Taper (FNPT) threads on all three ends. The 150 lb pressure rating makes it suitable for standard service applications in commercial and residential piping. Galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance in wet or exposed environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting during new construction and retrofit work on water, air, and compatible gas piping systems.
This reducing tee is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, compressed air distribution, and low-pressure steam or gas piping where a branch takeoff at a reduced diameter is required. The 1 x 3/4 x 1 inch configuration allows a consistent 1-inch main line run with a reduced 3/4-inch branch connection. It is field-threaded onto standard NPT pipe ends without special tooling beyond a pipe wrench and thread sealant.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard 150 lb malleable iron threaded pipe systems using 1-inch and 3/4-inch NPT pipe ends.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IFGC requirements for gas service applications. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before disassembling or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male NPT threads before assembly and tighten to a snug, leak-free fit using a pipe wrench. Do not over-torque malleable iron fittings, as the material can crack under excessive force.
