The SIGMA 811027812 is a 90-degree malleable iron street elbow rated at 150 lb, configured with a male NPT (MNPT) inlet and a female NPT (FNPT) outlet in a 1-1/4 inch nominal pipe size. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance in standard pipe system environments. This fitting is used to change direction in threaded pipe runs and installs directly into a female-threaded port, eliminating the need for a separate nipple. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically install this fitting in gas, water, and steam distribution systems where compact directional changes are required.
This street elbow is suited for residential and light commercial piping applications, including supply lines, branch connections, and riser configurations in both new construction and retrofit work. The 1-1/4 inch nominal size covers common trunk and branch line diameters found in low-pressure gas distribution and water service piping. Figure 3104 designation corresponds to a standard 90-degree street elbow geometry in the malleable iron fitting series.
Designed as a standard 150 lb malleable iron threaded fitting for use in 1-1/4 inch NPT threaded pipe systems in plumbing, gas distribution, and mechanical piping applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC) or International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) as appropriate. Shut off supply pressure and verify the line is depressurized before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to all male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten threaded connections, as malleable iron fittings can crack under excessive force.
