The SIGMA 811024207 is a 45-degree malleable iron pipe elbow rated at 150 lb and finished with a galvanized coating for corrosion resistance. Sized at 1-1/2 inches nominal, it features female National Pipe Taper (FNPT) threaded ends on both sides. This fitting is used to change pipe direction at a 45-degree angle in threaded piping systems. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this type of fitting in water, steam, and gas distribution lines where a gradual directional change is required. The galvanized finish adds a layer of protection suitable for wet or mildly corrosive environments.
This elbow is suited for residential and light commercial piping applications. It is commonly installed in hydronic heating systems, domestic water supply lines, and low-pressure steam or gas piping. The 150 lb pressure rating makes it appropriate for standard service pressures found in most building mechanical systems. The FNPT thread pattern follows standard NPT specifications, allowing it to connect to any matching NPT-threaded pipe or fitting of the same nominal size.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-service fitting compatible with 1-1/2 inch nominal NPT-threaded pipe and fittings in 150 lb class threaded piping systems.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters using pipe wrenches and appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape applied to the male threads before assembly. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Do not overtighten threaded connections, as malleable iron fittings can crack if excessive force is applied. Installation should comply with applicable local plumbing codes and ASME B16.3 standards for malleable iron fittings.
