The SIGMA 811023811 is a FIG 3102 45-degree malleable iron pipe elbow rated at 150 lb and sized for 1-inch nominal pipe. Finished in a galvanized coating for corrosion resistance, it features female National Pipe Taper (FNPT) threaded ends on both sides. This fitting is used to redirect pipe runs at a 45-degree angle in low-pressure piping systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in gas, water, and steam distribution systems where a gradual directional change is needed and space constraints rule out a 90-degree elbow.
This elbow is suited for commercial and residential piping applications including water supply, low-pressure steam, and gas distribution lines. The galvanized finish helps resist rust and corrosion in exposed or moderately wet environments. The 1-inch nominal FNPT thread pattern mates with standard NPT-threaded pipe and fittings, making it a straightforward replacement or new-installation component in conventional threaded piping systems.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded fitting for use with 1-inch nominal NPT-threaded pipe in standard 150 lb malleable iron piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing and mechanical codes. Shut off and depressurize the pipe system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before making up the connection. Do not overtighten threaded malleable iron fittings, as excessive force can crack the fitting body.
