The SIGMA 811017219 is a FIG 3103 standard street elbow designed for use in threaded pipe assemblies where a directional change is required without an additional nipple. The fitting connects a male NPT end directly to a female NPT end, allowing a compact 90-degree turn in the run. Constructed from malleable iron with a galvanized finish, it carries a 150 lb pressure rating suitable for low-pressure steam, water, gas, and air service. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this type of fitting in both new construction and retrofit piping systems.
This street elbow is used in residential and light commercial piping where a threaded iron fitting is required at a direction change. The MNPT x FNPT configuration lets the fitting thread directly onto a pipe or valve outlet without an intermediate coupling or nipple, saving space in tight installations. It is appropriate for use in water supply, compressed air, and low-pressure gas piping applications where malleable iron threaded fittings are specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 2 inch nominal threaded malleable iron pipe systems rated at 150 lb.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters following applicable IPC and IFGC code requirements for the service type. Shut off and depressurize the piping system fully before disassembling or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten; use a pipe wrench with a backup wrench on adjoining fittings to avoid stressing the pipe.
