The SIGMA 811017011 is a 90-degree malleable iron street elbow designed to change flow direction in threaded pipe assemblies. It features a male NPT inlet on one end and a female NPT outlet on the other, allowing it to thread directly into a fitting or valve without requiring an additional nipple. Rated at 150 lb, this elbow is built for use in moderate-pressure piping systems. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance for installations in wet or exposed environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in commercial and residential mechanical systems.
This street elbow is used in water, gas, and steam distribution piping where a directional change is needed within a tight space. The MNPT x FNPT configuration makes it a compact solution when back-to-back fittings are required. It is commonly found in boiler rooms, mechanical rooms, and utility piping layouts where threaded malleable iron fittings are the standard of construction.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard 1-1/2 inch NPT threaded pipe and fittings in 150 lb malleable iron piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable codes including the IPC and IFGC where gas service applies. Shut off and depressurize the system before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, and tighten to a snug fit without overtightening to avoid cracking the fitting.
