The SIGMA 811009612 is a FIG 3101R 90-degree reducing pipe elbow rated at 150 lb, manufactured from galvanized malleable iron. It transitions from a 1-1/2 inch nominal inlet to a 1-1/4 inch nominal outlet using female NPT (FNPT) threaded connections on both ends. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance for use in standard pipe systems. This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors working on threaded piping assemblies in commercial and residential applications where a direction change and pipe size reduction are needed at the same point in the run.
This reducing elbow is suited for low-pressure threaded pipe systems including water distribution, general plumbing, and light industrial piping. The 90-degree geometry handles a right-angle turn while simultaneously stepping down pipe size, eliminating the need for a separate reducer fitting. The FNPT end style accepts standard tapered male NPT pipe threads, making it compatible with conventional threaded pipe and fittings across the trade.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-1/2 inch to 1-1/4 inch nominal threaded pipe systems using standard NPT connections rated to 150 lb class.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC. Shut off and depressurize the pipe system completely before disassembling or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, and tighten with a pipe wrench to a snug, leak-free connection. Do not overtighten malleable iron fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque.
