The SIGMA 811002609 is a FIG 3101 90-degree pipe elbow rated at 150 lb, designed to redirect piping runs at a right angle in threaded pipe systems. Constructed from galvanized malleable iron, it accepts female NPT connections on both ends at a 4-inch nominal pipe size. Malleable iron construction provides the ductility and impact resistance needed in mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection piping systems. This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors working on low-pressure piping assemblies.
This elbow is suited for residential and commercial piping applications where a 90-degree change in direction is required. Typical installations include water supply lines, low-pressure steam distribution, compressed air systems, and general industrial piping. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance for use in both indoor and moderately exposed environments. The 4-inch nominal size targets larger-diameter branch and main line applications common in commercial mechanical rooms and industrial facilities.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 4-inch nominal FNPT threaded pipe systems rated at 150 lb working pressure.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Depressurize and drain the pipe system fully before removing any existing fittings or making new connections. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male NPT threads before assembly and tighten to proper engagement using pipe wrenches. Do not over-torque threaded connections, as malleable iron fittings can crack under excessive force.
