The SIGMA 811002005 is a 90-degree malleable iron pipe elbow designed to redirect flow in threaded piping systems. Built to a 150 lb pressure class with female NPT (FNPT) end connections on both ports, this fitting accepts standard NPT-threaded pipe at a 2-1/2 inch nominal size. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance suitable for a range of service environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in water, air, and compatible low-pressure fluid systems where a right-angle direction change is required. The Figure 3101 designation identifies it as a standard 90-degree elbow in the SPF/Anvil fitting series.
This elbow is used in residential and commercial plumbing, HVAC hydronic piping, compressed air distribution, and general industrial piping applications. The FNPT thread pattern on both ends allows direct connection to male-threaded pipe or fittings without adapters. The 2-1/2 inch nominal size suits larger branch and main line runs commonly found in commercial mechanical rooms and industrial service piping.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 2-1/2 inch nominal NPT threaded pipe systems rated at 150 lb class.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC code requirements for the service type. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly and tighten to hand-tight plus wrench turns per standard pipefitting practice. Do not over-torque malleable iron fittings, as the material is not as ductile as steel and can crack under excessive stress.
