The SIGMA 810051409 is a malleable iron reducing pipe tee designed for threaded pipe assemblies in low-pressure piping systems. Conforming to a 150 lb pressure class with NPT (National Pipe Taper) end connections, this fitting accepts a 2-inch run on both ends and a 3/4-inch branch outlet. The black oxide finish provides a degree of surface protection against oxidation during storage and installation. Malleable iron construction delivers the toughness needed for mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection piping applications where cast iron would be too brittle and steel butt-weld fittings are impractical.
This tee is suited for residential and light commercial piping installations including steam, water, and air distribution systems operating within standard 150 lb class pressure limits. The reducing branch configuration makes it a practical choice when a main run must supply a smaller branch line without additional reducer fittings. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters commonly install this type of fitting in mechanical rooms, utility piping, and above-ceiling distribution work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-use malleable iron tee for 150 lb NPT threaded piping systems. Compatible with standard tapered NPT pipe threads on nominal 2-inch and 3/4-inch pipe.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASME B16.3 standards for malleable iron threaded fittings. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before removing any existing fittings or making new connections. Apply an approved pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape to male NPT threads before assembly. Do not over-torque threaded connections, as malleable iron can crack if excessive force is applied.
