The SIGMA 810045609 is a FIG 1105R malleable iron reducing tee designed for threaded pipe assemblies in plumbing, gas distribution, and industrial piping systems. It features female national pipe taper (FNPT) threads on all three outlets and is rated at 150 lb, making it suitable for moderate-pressure service. The black oxide finish provides a degree of corrosion resistance for interior and sheltered installations. This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors working on threaded iron pipe systems.
This reducing tee is used in residential and commercial piping applications where a branch line of a smaller diameter must be taken off a main run. The run connections measure 1-1/2 inches nominal and the branch outlet measures 1 inch nominal, allowing flow to be directed from a larger main to a reduced branch without additional bushings or adapters in many configurations. Typical applications include steam, water, air, and gas distribution piping where malleable iron fittings are specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fitting for threaded malleable iron pipe systems using 150 lb rated components with FNPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable local codes and IFGC or IPC requirements for the fluid or gas being conveyed. Shut off and depressurize the piping system fully before removing any existing fittings. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly and tighten to hand-tight plus wrench-tight per standard practice. Do not overtighten, as malleable iron threads can crack under excessive torque.
