The SIGMA 810045419 is a FIG 1105R malleable iron reducing tee designed for threaded pipe assemblies in commercial and industrial piping systems. Sized at 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 x 1-1/4 inches nominal, this fitting accepts female national pipe taper (FNPT) connections on all three ports. The 150 lb pressure class rating makes it suitable for general-purpose steam, gas, and liquid service lines. The black oxide finish provides corrosion resistance for installation in exposed or semi-exposed environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction and retrofit piping runs.
This reducing tee is used wherever a branch line of a different diameter must be teed off a main run. The two inline ports measure 1-1/2 inches nominal and the branch outlet measures 1-1/4 inches nominal, allowing a step-down in pipe size without additional reducers. Typical applications include heating system distribution piping, compressed air lines, low-pressure steam service, and general industrial fluid handling. It is appropriate for both residential and light commercial mechanical rooms.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with 1-1/2 inch nominal and 1-1/4 inch nominal FNPT threaded pipe systems rated at 150 lb class service pressure.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC and IFGC requirements for the service type. De-pressurize and drain the pipe system completely before removing any existing fittings or threading new connections. Apply an approved pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly and tighten to the fitting manufacturer's recommended engagement depth. Do not over-tighten malleable iron fittings, as the material is strong but not ductile under excessive torque.
