The SIGMA 810043406 is a malleable iron reducing tee designed for threaded pipe assemblies in low-pressure fluid and gas distribution systems. Conforming to the FIG 1105R pattern, it features female national pipe taper (FNPT) threads on all three ports with a 1-1/4 inch run and 1 inch branch and outlet. Rated at 150 lb, this fitting accommodates typical service pressures found in commercial and industrial piping. The black oxide finish provides a baseline level of corrosion resistance for dry or semi-exposed indoor installations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this fitting type.
This reducing tee is suited for use in residential and light commercial piping applications where a threaded branch connection is required at a reduced pipe size. Common install scenarios include natural gas distribution headers, compressed air lines, and water service piping where a 1-1/4 inch main run must transition down to a 1 inch branch. The FNPT thread pattern makes it compatible with standard NPT-threaded pipe and fittings in black iron or galvanized configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install fitting for standard 150 lb malleable iron threaded pipe systems using NPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable code requirements such as the IPC or IFGC. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply a code-approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to all male threads before assembly, and tighten to hand-tight plus the appropriate number of turns using a pipe wrench. Do not overtighten malleable iron fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque.
