The SIGMA 810043208 is a malleable iron reducing tee designed for threaded pipe assemblies in low-pressure piping systems. Manufactured to a 150 lb pressure rating and finished in black oxide, this fitting connects a 1-1/4 inch run with a 1 inch branch outlet and returns to 1-1/4 inch on the opposite run end. Female National Pipe Taper (FNPT) threads on all three ports allow direct connection to standard NPT-threaded pipe and fittings. Malleable iron construction provides reliable mechanical strength and resistance to impact in typical plumbing and mechanical piping applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of reducing tee where a branch line of a smaller diameter must be tapped off a main run without breaking pipe size on the through-run.
This reducing tee is suited for residential and light commercial piping systems carrying gas, water, air, or steam within the 150 lb pressure class. The 1-1/4 x 1 x 1-1/4 inch nominal configuration is common in natural gas distribution piping, compressed air lines, and hydronic heating systems where a branch drop is required at a main distribution line. The black oxide finish provides moderate corrosion resistance appropriate for dry or semi-exposed interior installations. It is not intended for outdoor burial or high-pressure service beyond the 150 lb class rating.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation reducing tee for 150 lb malleable iron threaded pipe systems using standard NPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable mechanical and plumbing codes, including the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) where applicable. Shut off and depressurize the pipe system completely before disassembling any threaded connections. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly and tighten to a snug fit without over-torquing, which can crack malleable iron fittings. Inspect threads for damage before installation and do not use on systems exceeding the 150 lb pressure class rating.
