The SIGMA 810042408 is a malleable iron reducing tee fitting designed for threaded black iron pipe systems. Based on the FIG 1105R pattern, it features female NPT (FNPT) connections on all three ports and carries a 150 lb pressure rating. The run measures 1-1/4 x 1-1/4 inches with a 1-inch branch outlet, making it a straight-run tee with a reduced branch. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this type of fitting in low-pressure gas, steam, water, and air distribution piping. The black finish indicates it is not galvanized and is the standard choice for gas distribution lines.
This reducing tee is suited for residential and light commercial piping applications where a threaded branch connection of a smaller diameter is required off a main run. Common uses include natural gas supply headers, compressed air distribution, hydronic heating systems, and steam distribution piping operating within the 150 lb class pressure range. The FNPT end style threads directly onto standard NPT male pipe ends without additional adapters on properly sized pipe.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-service reducing tee for 150 lb class threaded malleable iron pipe systems using NPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable codes such as the IFGC, IPC, or local mechanical code. Shut off and depressurize the pipe system completely before disassembling any threaded connections. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service medium to all male NPT threads before assembly. Do not overtighten FNPT fittings — use a pipe wrench on the fitting flats and tighten to snug plus the appropriate number of turns for the pipe size per standard practice.
