The SIGMA 810023812 is a FIG 3102 black malleable iron pipe elbow rated for 150 lb service. It features a 1-inch nominal size with female NPT (FNPT) end connections on both ends, making it a standard 90-degree directional fitting for threaded pipe systems. This elbow is used to change flow direction in low-pressure piping assemblies and is installed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors in a wide range of commercial and residential applications. The black finish is applied over the malleable iron body, providing a baseline level of corrosion resistance suitable for dry or oil-service piping.
This fitting is commonly used in gas distribution piping, compressed air lines, water supply systems, and general-purpose threaded pipe assemblies where a 150 lb pressure class is appropriate. It is well suited for interior mechanical rooms, utility spaces, and above-grade piping runs where threaded black iron fittings are the standard of practice. The FNPT end style accepts standard NPT-threaded pipe, which is the predominant connection type in North American trade plumbing and mechanical work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-duty fitting for 1-inch nominal threaded pipe systems using NPT connections at 150 lb service class.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable mechanical and plumbing codes such as the IPC or IFGC. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe dope rated for the intended service medium before making up the connection. Hand-tighten first, then wrench-tighten to achieve a proper seal without over-stressing the fitting threads. Shut off and depressurize the system fully before cutting into any existing line.
