The SIGMA 810016410 is a FIG 3103 standard street elbow designed for use in threaded piping systems handling gas, air, water, and other compatible media. It features a male NPT inlet and female NPT outlet, allowing it to change flow direction directly off a fitting or valve without requiring an additional nipple. The 3/4-inch nominal size and 150 lb pressure class make it a practical choice for light commercial and residential piping installations. The fitting is manufactured from black malleable iron, which provides the flexibility and impact resistance needed in threaded pipe assemblies.
This street elbow is used in residential and light commercial applications where a 90-degree directional change is required in a threaded iron pipe system. Typical installations include gas distribution piping, compressed air lines, hydronic heating systems, and general plumbing rough-in work. The MNPT x FNPT configuration is well suited for connecting directly to valves, regulators, or other fittings with a female port, eliminating a fitting step in tight installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit component for 3/4-inch threaded malleable iron pipe systems rated at 150 lb, including gas, air, and water service piping assemblies.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers, gas fitters, or qualified mechanical contractors following applicable codes such as the IFGC or IPC. Power down or shut off the supply line and verify zero pressure before disassembling any existing piping. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, and tighten to a firm, leak-free connection using pipe wrenches. Do not over-torque malleable iron fittings, as the material can crack under excessive force.
