The SIGMA 810008409 is a FIG 3101R 90-degree reducing pipe elbow rated at 150 lb, manufactured from malleable iron with a black oxide finish. It transitions from a 1-inch nominal female NPT inlet to a 3/4-inch nominal female NPT outlet, making it a practical directional fitting for low-pressure piping systems. The FNPT end style on both ports allows for a standard threaded connection without additional adapters. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in gas distribution, steam, and water piping assemblies where a 90-degree direction change and a one-size reduction are needed in a single component.
This reducing elbow is suited for residential and light commercial piping applications involving black iron gas lines, low-pressure steam systems, and general water service piping. Its 150-lb pressure class rating and malleable iron construction make it appropriate for standard service conditions within that pressure range. The black oxide finish is typical for black iron gas piping installations and is not intended as corrosion protection for wet or outdoor environments without additional treatment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 150 lb class malleable iron threaded piping systems using 1-inch and 3/4-inch nominal NPT pipe.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes, the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC), or the International Plumbing Code (IPC) depending on the service. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before beginning any fitting work. Use appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the intended service medium. Do not over-torque threaded connections on malleable iron fittings, as the material can crack under excessive stress.
