The SIGMA 810002006 is a FIG 3101 malleable iron 90-degree pipe elbow designed for use in low-pressure piping systems. Rated at 150 lb, it features female NPT (FNPT) threaded ends on both ports and a standard black finish applied to the casting. The 2-1/2 inch nominal size fits common commercial and industrial pipe runs. Malleable iron construction provides the ductility and thread integrity needed for reliable, leak-free connections in steam, water, and gas distribution systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as part of threaded pipe assemblies in new construction and retrofit projects.
This elbow is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, hydronic heating, compressed air, and general-purpose pipe distribution where threaded malleable iron fittings are specified. The FNPT end style accepts standard NPT male-threaded pipe on both ends, making it compatible with common black iron pipe stock used in gas piping, fire suppression rough-in, and mechanical room applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fitting for threaded malleable iron piping systems using 2-1/2 inch nominal NPT-threaded pipe and fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes and the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) or International Plumbing Code (IPC) where relevant. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an approved pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, and tighten to hand-tight plus the appropriate number of turns using a pipe wrench sized for the fitting. Do not over-tighten malleable iron fittings, as excessive force can crack the casting.
