The SHURTAPE SHUR-232036 is a cold-temperature foil-scrim-kraft (FSK) insulation tape engineered for sealing, seaming, and joining scrim-reinforced pipe and duct insulation. The tape uses a maximum-strength, acrylic-based adhesive formulated specifically for cold-temperature environments, maintaining bond integrity through extreme temperature fluctuations and harsh weather conditions. At 3 inches wide and 150 feet long, this roll covers substantial run lengths in a single spool. The silver FSK facing creates a water and vapor barrier at every seam and joint. HVAC mechanics and insulation contractors rely on this tape for mechanical insulation work on both pipe and ductwork systems.
This tape is suited for residential and commercial HVAC and mechanical insulation applications where standard-temperature tapes fail to hold. It is used to close longitudinal seams and butt joints on fiberglass and similar scrim-reinforced insulation materials, and to establish continuous vapor barriers on cold surfaces such as chilled-water piping and low-temperature duct systems. The cold-temperature adhesive makes it viable for installations in unheated spaces, cold storage, and refrigeration environments where ambient temperatures drop well below standard application ranges.
Designed for use with scrim-reinforced pipe and duct insulation systems, including FSK-faced fiberglass and similar insulation products requiring a foil-faced tape for seaming and vapor barrier continuity.
Applied by licensed HVAC mechanics and certified insulation contractors following applicable mechanical codes. Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of dust or oil before tape application to ensure full adhesive contact. In cold-temperature installations, allow the tape to fully seat and press firmly across the entire width of the seam. Do not use this tape as a substitute for mastic or other sealants where project specifications require them.
