The SHURTAPE SHUR-200664 is a butyl-backed foil tape in the ShurMASTIC SF 685 series, engineered for air-sealing and pressure-class-rated duct work in commercial and residential HVAC systems. At 17 mil total thickness, this tape delivers a robust, conformable bond across sheet metal, flexible duct connections, and ductboard surfaces. It carries a tensile strength of 25 lbs/in and performs across a temperature range of -20 degrees F to 200 degrees F, making it suitable for both supply and return-side applications in a wide range of climates. HVAC installers and sheet metal mechanics reach for this tape when the job demands a UL 723-tested, SMACNA-compliant seal.
The SF 685 foil tape is used on low-, medium-, and high-pressure duct systems in commercial mechanical rooms, residential forced-air installations, and light industrial HVAC applications. It meets Pressure Classes SMACNA 1/2, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 and Seal Classes A, B, and C, covering virtually every duct pressure and leakage classification encountered in standard sheet metal work. Each roll is 2 inches wide and 100 feet long. The tape ships 24 rolls per case, making it practical for stocking a service van or a sheet metal fabrication shop.
Designed as an OEM-style sealing solution for sheet metal, flex duct, and ductboard assemblies in SMACNA-rated commercial and residential HVAC duct systems meeting Pressure Classes 1/2 through 6 and Seal Classes A, B, and C.
Licensed sheet metal mechanics and HVAC technicians should apply this tape to clean, dry, and dust-free surfaces for maximum adhesion. Power down air-handling equipment before sealing active duct joints to prevent pressurization during application. Follow local mechanical codes and SMACNA installation standards for required overlap and coverage at joints. Do not apply over wet mastic or compromised duct liner without cleaning and priming the substrate first.
