The SHURTAPE 207223 is a production-grade hot melt packing tape designed for medium-weight carton sealing in manufacturing and shipping environments. It uses a synthetic rubber/resin hot melt adhesive on a 30-micron cast biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film backing. At 1.9 mils thick with a tensile breaking strength of 27 lbs per inch width and 44 oz per inch width adhesion to stainless steel, this tape delivers reliable, instant closures under demanding throughput conditions. It is installed by packaging line operators and shipping department personnel in both manual hand-application and automated carton-sealing machine configurations.
This tape is sized at 48mm wide by 100m per roll and is suited for everyday carton sealing tasks in production facilities, distribution centers, and shipping operations. It performs across a service temperature range of -20 degrees F to 150 degrees F, making it appropriate for refrigerated warehouse environments as well as standard ambient conditions. The tan color provides clear visual confirmation of sealed seams on light-colored corrugated cartons. It meets ASTM D 1974-98 (2003) and CID A-A-1684C standards, and complies with FDA Indirect Contact regulations under CFR 21 175.105 and CFR 21 177.1520 for applicable colors.
Designed for use in manual and automated industrial carton sealing applications on medium-weight corrugated cartons in manufacturing and shipping environments.
Load rolls onto a compatible hand dispenser or automated carton sealing machine with a 3.0-inch core mount. Ensure the tape path and machine rollers are free of debris before threading a new roll to avoid adhesive contamination. When using automated equipment, follow the machine manufacturer's tension and feed settings for hot melt film tapes. Store unused rolls away from direct heat sources and UV light to preserve adhesive performance.
