The SHURTAPE 101229 is a fiberglass-reinforced strapping tape from the GS 490 series, designed for box closing, bundling, and carton sealing applications. The tape is 4.5 mil thick with a hot melt adhesive and a glass filament construction that delivers tensile reinforcement along the length of the roll. It measures 0.71 inches wide and comes in a 55-meter roll length. The white color makes it easy to identify on packed cartons. This tape meets FDA Indirect Contact standards under CFR 21, 175.105 and CFR 21, 177.1520, making it suitable for use in food-adjacent packaging environments.
The 101229 is suited for light-duty to standard packaging operations in warehouse, distribution, and shipping environments. Its reinforced construction handles box closing and bundling on corrugated cartons where a standard film tape would not provide adequate hold. The narrow 0.71-inch width makes it practical for strapping smaller packages or bundling multiple items together. Operating temperature range spans from -10 degrees F to 150 degrees F, covering common warehouse and transit conditions.
Designed for use with standard hand-applied or handheld tape dispensers compatible with narrow-width strapping tape rolls in light-duty packaging and bundling applications.
This tape is applied by hand or with a compatible handheld strapping tape dispenser. Ensure the surface is clean and dry before application for full adhesive contact. Avoid applying below the minimum operating temperature of -10 degrees F, as adhesive performance will degrade. Store rolls away from direct heat sources and out of direct sunlight to maintain adhesive integrity before use.
