The SHOWA 890-09 is a chemical and acid resistant glove constructed with a fluoroelastomer outer layer bonded over a butyl rubber base, delivering superior hand and forearm protection against highly corrosive acids and aggressive chemical exposures. At 28 mil thickness, the 890-09 provides a robust barrier without sacrificing dexterity. The fluoroelastomer (Viton-style) coating is specifically engineered to resist degradation from aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons including Benzene, Toluene, and Xylene. This glove is sized Large with a rolled cuff finish and is sold as a pair. It is suited for industrial, laboratory, and chemical handling environments where standard rubber gloves fall short.
The 890-09 is intended for use in environments involving handling of highly corrosive acids, hydrocarbon solvents, and similarly aggressive chemical compounds. Typical applications include chemical processing, industrial maintenance, laboratory work, hazmat response support, and petrochemical operations. The rolled cuff style provides a comfortable wrist seal and simplifies donning and doffing during active fieldwork. This glove is appropriate for facilities personnel, industrial hygiene programs, and trade professionals working in chemical-intensive settings.
Designed for use in chemical handling applications requiring resistance to corrosive acids and hydrocarbon solvents, particularly where butyl or standard neoprene gloves do not provide adequate chemical breakthrough protection.
Inspect gloves for cuts, punctures, or swelling before each use. Consult the Safety Data Sheets for all chemicals being handled to confirm the glove material provides adequate breakthrough resistance for your specific application. Follow your facility chemical hygiene plan and applicable OSHA PPE requirements when selecting and donning chemical resistant gloves. Dispose of contaminated gloves per local hazardous waste regulations.
