The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME UR702A is a pipe deburring and depth setting tool designed for use with copper, PEX, and CPVC pipe. It serves two critical prep functions in a single step: removing burrs from the outside of cut pipe ends and marking the correct insertion depth needed for SharkBite push-to-connect fittings. Accurate depth marking and a clean pipe end are both required to achieve a proper seal with push-to-connect technology. The UR702A is built from plastic construction and covers pipe sizes from 1/2 inch through 1 inch. Plumbers and pipefitters performing rough-in or repair work with SharkBite fittings will find this tool essential for consistent, leak-free connections.
This tool is used in residential and light commercial plumbing applications wherever SharkBite push-to-connect fittings are installed. It accommodates 1/2 inch, 5/8 inch, 3/4 inch, and 1 inch pipe. The appropriate pipe size is inserted into the corresponding slot on the tool. Rotating the tool deburrs the pipe exterior, and the integrated gauge then marks a ring around the pipe indicating the correct insertion depth for the fitting. This process applies to copper tubing, PEX pipe, and CPVC pipe, making it a versatile prep tool across common residential piping materials.
Designed for use with SharkBite push-to-connect fittings and compatible with 1/2 inch, 5/8 inch, 3/4 inch, and 1 inch copper tubing, PEX pipe, and CPVC pipe.
A licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter should perform all pipe preparation and fitting installation in accordance with local plumbing codes. Before cutting or deburring pipe, shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure. Insert the pipe into the correct size slot on the tool and rotate to remove burrs, then use the depth mark as a guide before seating the push-to-connect fitting. Do not use this tool on pipe sizes outside its rated range, and inspect the pipe surface for damage before installation.
