The SHARKBITE ur274 is a 3/4 inch by 1/2 inch brass push-to-connect 90 degree reducing elbow designed for fast, tool-free connections in potable water and radiant heating systems. The body is constructed from DZR brass, which resists both corrosion and stress cracking under sustained pressure and temperature cycling. Rated to 400 PSI and 200 degrees F, this fitting handles the demands of residential and light commercial plumbing without additional fittings or soldering. An EPDM O-ring creates a reliable seal on contact. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters working in new construction or retrofit applications will find this fitting compliant with standard potable water system requirements.
The ur274 is suited for above-ground and underground installations, including runs behind walls and in radiant heating loops. It connects two different pipe sizes in a single fitting, transitioning from 3/4 inch to 1/2 inch pipe. Compatible pipe materials include PEX, copper, CPVC, PE-RT, and HDPE SDR-9 in any combination. The fitting can be installed on wet lines, pressure tested immediately after installation, and rotated after connection to ease final positioning in tight spaces. It is manufactured in America, making it suitable for projects with domestic-content requirements.
Compatible with PEX, copper, CPVC, PE-RT, and HDPE SDR-9 tubing in any combination, for 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch pipe sizes in potable water and radiant heating systems above ground, underground, and behind walls.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before making any connections, even though the fitting is rated for wet-line installation. Ensure pipe ends are cut cleanly and deburred before inserting into the fitting to achieve a proper seal. A disconnect clip or removal tool is required to release the fitting from the pipe if repositioning is needed after the connection is made.
