The SHARKBITE ur23037 is a 1/2-inch push-to-connect by 3/8-inch compression straight stop valve designed for residential and light commercial plumbing installations. Built with a high-performance DZR lead-free brass body and a stainless steel retainer ring, this valve connects to stub-outs exiting walls to control and shut off water flow to fixtures and appliances. The quarter-turn full-port brass ball valve provides fast, reliable operation. Rated to 125 psi and 160 degrees F, it is engineered to handle standard residential supply line pressures. Licensed plumbers and skilled tradespersons install this valve during fixture rough-in, remodel work, and appliance hookups.
The ur23037 is suited for use with PEX, copper, CPVC, PE-RT, and HDPE SDR-9 pipe. It is ideal for tight-space applications such as under-sink and behind-appliance installations where tool-free connection reduces labor time and minimizes installation errors. The valve can be installed on wet lines and pressure tested immediately after connection. No special tools, crimping, soldering, or glue is required. No tube liner is required for PEX pipe. The fitting can also be rotated after installation to ease alignment with the supply line.
Designed for use with 1/2-inch PEX, copper, CPVC, PE-RT, and HDPE SDR-9 pipe on the push-to-connect inlet side, and accepts standard 3/8-inch compression supply lines on the outlet side. Suitable as a straight stop on residential and light commercial stub-out applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified tradesperson in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the main water supply and relieve line pressure before servicing or replacing an existing stop valve. The push-to-connect end requires a clean, square pipe cut with burrs removed before insertion. To remove the fitting, use a SHARKBITE-compatible disconnect clip, disconnect tongs, or a pro disconnect tool — do not attempt removal without the proper disconnect device.
