The SHARKBITE UP374A5 is a poly alloy barb insert PEX tee fitting sold in a 5-pack for use with 1-inch cross-link polyethylene (PEX) tubing in hot and cold water distribution systems. The poly alloy construction replaces traditional brass PEX insert fittings and is manufactured to comply with California AB1953 low-lead and Vermont S152 low-lead laws. These fittings are NSF listed and designed to hold well over 100 psi immediately after crimping, making them suitable for pressure testing right on the job. Plumbers and pipefitters working on residential or light commercial water supply systems are the primary installers.

These tee fittings are used wherever a 1-inch PEX branch connection is needed in hot or cold potable water piping. They are compatible with cross-link polyethylene PEX tubing secured using copper crimp rings or a cinch clamp system. When used with a cinch clamp, the compatible cinch clamp is True Value 608-933 and the required cinch tool is True Value 608-743. The poly alloy material meets low-lead compliance requirements for installations in California and Vermont, making this fitting suitable for projects in those regulated markets.

Installation Notes
