Product Description

The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME UC526LFA is a lead free brass barb insert x female pipe thread swivel faucet adapter designed to connect 1/2 inch cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing to a 1/2 inch male iron pipe thread (MIP) faucet shank. The barb end accepts PEX tubing and is secured with cinch clamps using a cinch tool or with copper crimp rings and a crimp tool. The swivel plastic nut on the female pipe thread end allows for easy thread engagement without twisting the PEX line. Wetted surfaces contain less than 0.25% lead by weight, meeting current low-lead requirements. The fitting is immediately testable to well over 100 psi once installed.

This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where PEX distribution lines terminate at faucet shanks or similar MIP-threaded fixtures. Typical installations include under-sink supply connections, lavatory faucet hookups, and kitchen faucet supply lines where PEX tubing replaces copper or braided supply lines. Licensed plumbers and qualified plumbing contractors are the primary installers. The swivel nut design simplifies rough-in work in tight cabinet spaces.

Compatibility

Barb end is compatible with cinch clamps (TV 608-933) installed with a cinch tool (TV 608-743), or standard copper crimp rings installed with a crimp tool per ASTM F 1807 methods.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before making connections. Secure the barb end to PEX tubing using the correct cinch clamp or crimp ring method before pressurizing the system. Do not overtighten the swivel nut onto the faucet shank thread, as the plastic nut is designed for hand-tight plus modest wrench engagement only.
