The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME UC256LFCP25 is a lead free brass barb insert elbow designed to connect two sections of 3/4-inch cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing at a 90-degree angle. This fitting uses barbed ends that grip the inside of PEX pipe and are secured with cinch clamps or copper crimp rings, creating a reliable, pressure-rated connection in potable water systems. The wetted surface contains less than 0.25% lead by weight, satisfying AB1953 California and VT S152 Vermont low lead restrictions. Sold in a 25-pack, this fitting is the right choice for plumbers and pipefitters working on residential or light commercial PEX installations who need volume on the job.
This elbow is rated for immediate pressure testing well over 100 psi, making it practical for fast-turnaround rough-in work. It is used in residential and commercial potable water distribution systems where PEX tubing requires a 90-degree directional change. Securing the barb ends requires either cinch clamps with a cinch tool or copper crimp rings with a crimp tool. It meets NSF/ANSI Standard 14-2009 and ASTM F 1807 requirements for products intended for the transport of potable water, as well as ANSI/NSF Standard 61 Annex G for lead free compliance.
Designed for use with 3/4-inch cross-linked polyethylene PEX tubing. Barb ends are secured using cinch clamps with a cinch tool or copper crimp rings with a crimp tool per ASTM F 1807 installation methods.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting into any existing system. Ensure the PEX tubing end is cut cleanly and squarely before inserting the barb fitting. Crimp or cinch connections must be inspected with a go/no-go gauge to verify a proper bite before pressure testing.
