The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME UC256LFA10 is a lead-free brass barb insert elbow designed to connect two pieces of 3/4-inch cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing at a 90-degree angle. Sold in a 10-pack, this fitting is intended for potable water systems in residential and light commercial plumbing applications. It is constructed from lead-free brass with a wetted surface containing less than 0.25% lead by weight, meeting California AB1953 and Vermont VT S152 low-lead restrictions. The fitting is immediately testable to well over 100 psi once installed, supporting efficient inspection workflows on the job.
This elbow is suited for residential and commercial plumbing installations where PEX tubing is used for hot or cold potable water distribution. The barb ends are secured to PEX pipe using cinch clamps with a compatible cinch tool or copper crimp rings with a crimp tool. It is a practical choice for rough-in plumbing, fixture supply lines, and hydronic distribution systems where a 90-degree directional change is required in 3/4-inch PEX runs.
Designed for use with 3/4-inch cross-linked polyethylene PEX tubing in potable water systems. Barb ends are compatible with standard cinch clamp tools and copper crimp ring tools per ASTM F1807 installation methods.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified trades working with PEX distribution systems. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting and fitting PEX tubing. Secure barb ends using an approved cinch clamp tool or copper crimp ring tool following ASTM F1807 procedures. Verify local code requirements, as some jurisdictions governed by the IPC or IRC may have specific requirements for PEX fittings in potable water applications.
