The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME UC248LFA10 is a lead-free brass barb insert elbow designed for joining two sections of 1/2-inch cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing in potable water systems. Each elbow features a barbed end profile that seats securely inside PEX pipe when fastened with cinch clamps or copper crimp rings. The fitting meets NSF/ANSI Standard 14-2009, ASTM F1807, and ANSI/NSF Standard 61 Annex G for lead-free compliance. Wetted surfaces contain less than 0.25% lead by weight, satisfying California AB1953 and Vermont VT S152 low-lead restrictions. Plumbers and pipefitters install these in residential and light commercial plumbing roughins.

These barb insert elbows are used wherever a 90-degree directional change is needed in a 1/2-inch PEX tubing run.
