The SHARKBITE CASH ACME UAB23057LFA is a straight stop valve designed for potable water distribution systems using PEX-A pipe. It connects a 1/2-inch PEX-A expansion inlet to a 3/8-inch OD compression outlet, making it a common choice for fixture supply connections such as lavatory and toilet rough-ins. The body is constructed from lead-free dezincification resistant brass, meeting requirements for use in drinking water applications. Installation requires a PEX expansion tool and compatible expansion rings — the fitting cannot be made with standard crimp or clamp tooling. Licensed plumbers typically install this valve in residential and light commercial settings.
This stop valve fits into PEX-A distribution systems where a shutoff point is needed at the point of use. The 3/8-inch OD compression outlet is a standard size for connecting to fixture supply lines serving lavatories, toilets, and similar fixtures. Because the PEX-A expansion method cold-expands the pipe before insertion, the joint recovers tightly around the fitting as the pipe returns to its original diameter, producing a reliable seal. This valve is sold individually but is packaged in quantities of 24 units per case.
Compatible with PEX-A pipe only. Requires a PEX expansion tool and PEX-A expansion rings to complete the connection. Not compatible with PEX-B or PEX-C pipe, or with crimp and clamp fitting systems.
Installation must be performed using a proper PEX-A expansion tool and correctly sized expansion rings — substituting crimp or clamp tooling will not produce a code-compliant joint. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before beginning work. Follow all applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM F1960 standards for PEX-A expansion connections. Verify that the compression nut and sleeve are fully seated on the fixture supply line before turning water back on.
