The SHARKBITE UAB008LFA is a 1/2 inch PEX-A expansion coupling designed to join two sections of same-size PEX-A tubing using compatible expansion sleeves. This fitting works with the expansion method, which requires an expansion tool to enlarge the pipe end and sleeve before seating the fitting. Once released, the pipe memory draws tight around the fitting body for a secure, reliable connection. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this coupling during new construction and retrofit work in both residential and light commercial settings. It is rated for potable water and hydronic heating systems.

This coupling is suited for 1/2 inch PEX-A piping runs where a straight inline connection is needed. Common applications include domestic hot and cold water distribution, radiant floor heating loops, and baseboard hydronic systems. Because it is specific to PEX-A pipe, it is not compatible with PEX-B or PEX-C tubing without appropriate transition fittings.
