The SHARKBITE CASH ACME UA23102A25 is a plastic PEX-A expansion sleeve designed for use with 1/2 inch PEX-A pipe in potable water systems. Sold in a 25-pack, these sleeves work in conjunction with a PEX expansion tool and compatible expansion rings to form a mechanical connection that tightens over time as the pipe contracts back to its original memory. The UA23102A25 is approved for water service line installations and is rated for direct burial applications, including encasement in concrete. Licensed plumbers and experienced pipe fitters install these sleeves as part of expansion-style PEX-A fittings systems.
These sleeves are suited for residential and light commercial plumbing rough-in work, water service laterals, and underground distribution lines where a reliable, long-term joint is required. Because PEX-A has the highest flexibility and shape-memory characteristics of all PEX grades, the expansion method produces a joint that becomes more secure as the expanded pipe collar recovers. This sleeve is compatible with PEX-A pipe only and is not interchangeable with PEX-B or PEX-C crimp or clamp fittings systems. The 25-pack quantity is practical for larger installations or stocking a service vehicle.
Compatible with PEX-A pipe only. Designed for use with PEX expansion tools and expansion rings. Approved for water service lines and burial applications including concrete encasement.
Installation requires a dedicated PEX-A expansion tool and appropriately sized expansion rings; do not attempt to make connections without the correct expansion tooling. Power or water supply to the system must be shut off and pressure relieved before cutting into any existing line. Work should comply with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC requirements for potable water piping. Allow the expanded pipe collar adequate time to recover around the fitting before pressurizing the system.
