The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME U870W50 is a 3/4-inch CTS (Copper Tube Size) PEX-B pipe coil, 50 feet in length, in white. This Type B silane-cross-linked polyethylene pipe is rated for both hot and cold potable water distribution in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. PEX-B tubing is produced using the silane method, which results in higher concentrations of anti-oxidants and thermal stabilizers — a critical advantage in chlorinated water supplies and recirculation systems. The pipe carries a burst rating of 1,100 psi at 73 degrees F and 375 psi at 180 degrees F, meeting SDR-9 dimensional standards. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this product.
This coil is designed for potable hot and cold water distribution in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. It is compatible with 3/4-inch quick-connect and brass PEX insert fittings. The white color designation is commonly used for cold water lines, though the pipe is rated for both hot and cold service. Its flexibility makes it well suited for retrofit work, radiant distribution manifolds, and long runs with minimal joints. Recirculation systems benefit specifically from the higher anti-oxidant content of the Type B silane production method.
Designed for use with 3/4-inch quick-connect and brass PEX insert fittings meeting ASTM SDR-9 certification. The 25-year warranty remains valid when used with other manufacturers ASTM SDR-9 certified fittings. Note: PEX Type A, B, and C designations are European system designations indicating production method — they are not a performance grading hierarchy.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting or connecting. Support pipe every 30 inches vertically and horizontally. Protect the pipe where it enters or exits a slab or wall, maintain a minimum clearance of 18 inches from water heaters, boilers, and wood-burning appliances, 12 inches from recessed lights, and 6 inches from gas appliance vents. Do not use duct tape, pipe dope, threading compound, or mineral or linseed oil with this pipe. Do not kink the pipe or expose it to direct sunlight for extended periods.
