The SHARKBITE CASH ACME U870R20 is a 3/4-inch CTS (Copper Tube Size) PEX-B pipe stick in red, measuring 20 feet in length and rated for hot water distribution. Manufactured using the Type B silane cross-linking method, this pipe contains enhanced anti-oxidants and thermal stabilizers that support chlorine resistance and recirculation system performance. Burst pressure is rated at 1,100 psi at 73 degrees F and 375 psi at 180 degrees F. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters use this pipe for residential and light commercial potable water systems where a rigid stick format is preferred over coiled PEX.
This pipe is designed for hot water supply lines in residential and commercial plumbing applications. Its red color coding identifies it as a hot water line for quick identification during rough-in and service. Compatible with 3/4-inch quick-connect and brass PEX insert fittings. It is well-suited for recirculation systems due to the elevated chlorine ratings provided by the Type B silane manufacturing process. The pipe is sold in individual 20-foot sticks, with a package quantity of 10 sticks per case.
Designed for use with 3/4-inch quick-connect and brass PEX insert fittings meeting ASTM SDR-9 certification, including fittings from other manufacturers. Suitable for hot water supply and recirculation systems in residential and light commercial plumbing.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the system before cutting or connecting pipe. Support pipe every 30 inches both vertically and horizontally, and protect pipe where it enters or exits slabs or walls. Do not use duct tape, pipe dope, threading compound, or mineral or linseed oil with this pipe. Do not kink the pipe or expose it to direct sunlight. Maintain minimum clearances: 18 inches from water heaters, boilers, and wood-burning appliances; 12 inches from recessed lights; and 6 inches from gas appliance vents.
