The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME U860W5 is a 1/2-inch Copper Tube Size (CTS) PEX-B stick pipe in white, sold in a 10-piece pack of 5-foot sticks. Manufactured using the silane cross-linking method (Type B), this pipe carries a burst pressure rating of 1,100 psi at 73 degrees F and 375 psi at 180 degrees F. Type B silane-method PEX incorporates additional anti-oxidants and thermal stabilizers, making it well-suited for chlorine-heavy water supplies and hot-water recirculation systems. Licensed plumbers and water-distribution contractors install this pipe in residential and light commercial potable water systems.
This pipe is designed for both hot and cold water distribution lines. It is compatible with 1/2-inch Quick Connect and brass PEX insert fittings. The 5-foot stick format is commonly used in retrofit applications, stub-outs, and tight-access runs where coiled pipe is impractical. Each stick is color-coded white for easy identification during rough-in. The 10-piece package provides 50 linear feet total per order unit.
Compatible with 1/2-inch Quick Connect and brass PEX insert fittings. Warranty coverage extends to installations using other manufacturers ASTM SDR-9 certified fittings. Type A, B, and C designations are European system classifications and do not represent a quality grading hierarchy.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before cutting or joining. Support pipe every 30 inches vertically and horizontally, and protect pipe where it enters or exits slabs or walls. Maintain minimum clearances: 18 inches from water heaters, boilers, and wood-burning appliances; 12 inches from recessed lights; 6 inches from gas appliance vents. Do not use duct tape, pipe dope, threading compound, mineral oil, or linseed oil with this pipe. Do not kink the pipe or expose it to direct sunlight.
