The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME U860B20 is a 1/2-inch CTS (Copper Tube Size) PEX-B stick pipe in blue, cut to 20 feet, for cold water distribution. Manufactured using the Type B silane crosslinking method, this pipe carries enhanced anti-oxidant and thermal stabilizer packages that support chlorine-resistant and recirculation system installations. It is pressure-rated at 1,100 psi at 73 degrees F and 375 psi at 180 degrees F per ASTM SDR-9 standards. Licensed plumbers install this pipe in residential and light commercial water supply systems where flexible, corrosion-resistant tubing is required. The blue color coding identifies it as a cold water line at a glance.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting or connecting. Support the pipe every 30 inches both vertically and horizontally, protect it where it enters or exits a slab or wall, and maintain minimum clearances: 18 inches from water heaters, boilers, and wood-burning appliances; 12 inches from recessed lights; and 6 inches from gas appliance vents. Do not use duct tape, pipe dope, threading compound, or mineral or linseed oil with this pipe, and never kink the pipe or expose it to direct sunlight.
