The SHARKBITE CASH ACME U860B10 is a 1/2-inch CTS (Copper Tube Size) PEX-B stick pipe, 10 feet long, color-coded blue for cold water distribution. Manufactured using the silane cross-linking method (Type B), this pipe carries elevated burst ratings of 1,100 PSI at 73 degrees F and 375 PSI at 180 degrees F. PEX-B construction incorporates additional anti-oxidants and thermal stabilizers, which supports performance in chlorinated water systems and recirculation applications. It is compatible with 1/2-inch Quick Connect and brass PEX insert fittings. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this pipe in residential and light commercial potable water systems.
This pipe is rated for cold water service and is designed for use in residential and commercial plumbing installations where flexible, corrosion-resistant tubing is required. It is suited for recirculation systems where chlorine resistance and thermal stability are priorities. The blue color coding helps distinguish cold water lines from hot water lines during rough-in and inspection. It is sold as a 10-foot rigid stick, making it practical for straight runs in framed walls, joist bays, and mechanical rooms.
Designed for use with 1/2-inch Quick Connect and brass PEX insert fittings meeting ASTM SDR-9 certification. The 25-year warranty applies when used with any manufacturer's ASTM SDR-9 certified fittings. Note: PEX Type A, B, and C designations are European system classifications, not performance grades.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off water supply and depressurize the system before cutting or connecting pipe. Support pipe every 30 inches both vertically and horizontally, and protect pipe at all slab or wall penetrations. Do not use duct tape, pipe dope, threading compound, or mineral or linseed oil with this pipe. Maintain minimum clearances: 18 inches from water heaters, boilers, and wood-burning appliances; 12 inches from recessed lights; and 6 inches from gas appliance vents. Do not kink the pipe or expose it to direct sunlight.
