The SHARKBITE u712 is a plastic disconnect clip designed for use with SharkBite push-fit fittings on 3/4-inch copper, CPVC, and PEX pipe. The clip allows technicians to release push-fit connections quickly without damaging the fitting or the pipe. It is rated for temperatures up to 200 degrees F, making it suitable for domestic hot and cold water distribution systems. Plumbers and pipefitters use this clip during repairs, system modifications, or any situation where a previously made push-fit connection needs to be broken and remade. The lightweight plastic construction keeps the tool easy to carry on the job.
This disconnect clip is used in residential and light commercial plumbing applications wherever SharkBite push-fit fittings are installed. Common scenarios include retrofits, service calls, and new construction where copper, CPVC, or PEX tubing runs are joined without soldering, gluing, or crimping. The clip is sized specifically for 3/4-inch fittings and is not interchangeable with other pipe sizes.
Designed for use with SharkBite push-fit fittings on 3/4-inch copper, CPVC, and PEX pipe. Not intended for other pipe sizes or non-push-fit connection types.
This clip is installed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter during service or modification of existing push-fit connections. Before disconnecting any fitting, shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure. Insert the disconnect clip around the pipe at the fitting collar and press toward the fitting body to release the grab ring, then pull the pipe free. Follow all applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements for pipe joining and system service.
