The SHARKBITE U706A is a 1/4 inch disconnect clip designed for use with SharkBite push-fit fittings. The clip provides a simple, tool-free way to release push-fit connections without damaging the fitting or tubing. Constructed of DZR (dezincification-resistant) brass, the U706A is rated to 200 psi and 200 degrees F, making it suitable for both hot and cold potable water lines. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this clip during service calls where push-fit connections need to be removed and reconfigured without cutting into the line.

The U706A disconnect clip is compatible with SharkBite push-fit fittings used on copper tubing (CTS), CPVC, and PEX pipe with the integral tube liner included in the fitting. It is appropriate for residential and light commercial plumbing applications including potable water distribution and hydronic systems. The clip is certified for underground installations as a manufactured joint, eliminating the need for access panels in those applications. Each bag contains 12 clips, supporting multi-connection service work in a single visit.

Installation Notes

Installation and removal of push-fit connections should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the IPC or UPC as adopted in the jurisdiction. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before disconnecting any fitting. Insert the disconnect clip fully around the pipe at the fitting collar before pulling back to release the connection. Do not reuse fittings or clips that show visible deformation or damage.
